FAQ’s

Your initial consultation is an extended appointment where a full foot health assessment is done.  Your podiatrist will ask questions about your general health and lifestyle, foot health including and any previous foot related problems. They will take a medical history including any medication you are taking so that we have a good understanding of your medical problems or medications. This is done to provide safe and effective treatments, give you appropriate advice and guidance and help develop your individual treatment plan.

Following this your podiatrist will carry out a visual assessment of both your feet. They will look for Skin problems, nail problems, the shape and structure of your foot and check your footwear. Further assessments will be done such as vascular assessment, diabetic assessment or dermoscopy where applicable, depending on your medical history.

Once we have a good understanding of your concerns, we will then discuss your options and provide the treatment.  Most common foot complaints can be treated on the same day.

Your podiatrist will begin by asking what your main concern or problem is, if you have had any changes in your medical history or medications since your last appointment.

They will then carry out a thorough visual check of both your feet.  Your podiatrist will explain what they are treating and why.

Using sterile instrument, we will then provide the appropriate treatment.  This usually includes trimming nails, removing corns, reducing hard skin amongst others.

Once your treatment is complete your skin is cleansed using a professional advanced formula cleanser that cools and calms the skin followed by a luxurious foot cream to hydrate.

Your podiatrist will offer information on your home care plan and your treatment plan to keep your feet healthy.

As a Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered podiatrist, we are professionally and legally bound to ensure that we have a full medical history before starting any treatment.   (Any information given to us is treated with the strictest of confidence.)
